Addiction and Treatment Center Information

Over 23 million youth and adults have an addiction problem in the United States today. Approximately 10% will actually enter an addiction treatment program. Still yet, a small percentage of those are able to achieve permanent recovery. Successful treatment outcomes depend on a variety of factors surrounding the addicts current scenario. You should also be aware that many treatment programs use outdated or unsubstantiated methods of treatment.

If you or a loved one struggle with addiction and need treatment, finding the right help can be overwhelming to say the least. Asking for help is hard enough much less sorting through the myriad of addiction treatment centers that are available.  Here at Addiction Watch.com our placement specialists will explain the various treatment options and help you find the right program.

OUR PURPOSE IS TO EDUCATE YOU ON ADDICTION RELATED ISSUES SO YOU CAN MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION ABOUT TREATMENT OPTIONS IN YOUR AREA OR ELSEWHERE.

Finding an Addiction Treatment Center

Understanding addiction is the key to finding the right treatment program for your particular addiction (s) and the problems associated with it. We are proud to provide with you compassionate and knowledgeable assistance with the sole purpose of finding the right fit for your treatment needs. Whether you need drug rehab or treatment for alcoholism we can help. Its all about finding the program that will handle not only the drug or alcohol dependence… but the underlying causes too. This increases the likelihood of  long term sobriety.

Sorting through the Treatment Center Options

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration lists over 7,000 treatment programs in the United States of one kind or another.  One would think with that many treatment resources out there finding dependable help wouldn’t be difficult. We can only wish that were the case. The sad fact is there are only a few treatment modalities to choose from. That and the fact there are tens of millions of addicts struggling with addiction makes the treatment services that are available limited to say the least. Here at AddictionWatch.Com we know the differences on types of treatment and will educate you on the best choice.

Kinds of Treatment Available

Having thousands of treatment facilities does not mean there are several different kinds of addiction treatment services available. The truth is, there’s not. In actuality there are less than ten different treatment modalities throughout the U.S. The majority of treatment centers employ a traditional form of services using the Twelve Steps, or AA. Other treatment options include Dual-Diagnosis, Faith Based, Cognitive Therapy or a combination therein. Knowing which one is best for you and your needs is something we can help with.

Another thing to consider is how long of a alcohol or drug treatment program is needed. Whether to go outpatient, inpatient or residential. Without help it’s hard to sift through the nearly 1700 short term (30 days or less) drug rehab centers and 2300 long term ( 90 days or longer) treatment facilities throughout the country. Getting it right the first time is so important. After all….You don’t want to have to do this again! There may not be another chance!

The National Institute of Drug Abuse suggests that success with recovery is contingent upon treatment length and recommend at least 90 days or longer.  Most people find that hard to believe. Changing years of addictive behavior takes time.

As you can see there is a lot to consider when it comes to finding the right treatment facility.

Let us help you work this out. Call now and get the help you need!

Alcohol Addiction and Treatment Issues

Alcohol is still the number one killer.  The 2011 National Survey on Drug Use and Health  reports over fifty percent of Americans 12 or older drink alcohol. That’s over 133 million people. 58 Million People aged twelve or older binged on alcohol thirty days prior to the survey.

That same survey indicates over 5,000 underage youth abuse alcohol for first time each and every day. Youth under the age of 15 who abuse alcohol are five times more likely to become problem alcoholics. Getting treatment for alcohol addiction is much more involved when you consider the risks associated with alcohol withdrawal and the potential need for medical detoxification assistance.

The Facts about Addiction and Treatment Admissions

Marijuana is the second most abused drug in the country behind alcohol.  Sixty four percent of addicts enter drug rehab for marijuana addiction treatment.  Many people feel marijuana is not a gateway drug. We know it is. Just like alcohol, the younger a person is when they abuse marijuana the more likely they are to abuse other drugs like cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine. Studies have shown that over 60 percent of those who abused marijuana under age fifteen would need treatment for cocaine addiction.

Treatment admissions for heroin addiction is on the rise. The rising prescription painkiller problem is the culprit. Kids are getting hooked on opioid prescription drugs and then turning to heroin because of cheaper prices and availability. Treatment for opiate addiction includes treatment for heroin, Oxycodone, OxyContin, Percocet and Vicodin. Prescription drug addiction has also risen dramatically. The NSDUH reports over 16 million people took a prescription drug for non-medical reasons in 2009.

Drug abuse often goes on for years before anyone tries to do anything about it. The fact is, confronting the addiction problem early on, regardless the degree of abuse, is always best.  The average addict abuses drugs or alcohol for 12-13 years before seeking treatment. Hundreds of thousands die each year from some kind of drug or alcohol related issue. Don’t be a statistic. Get help now!

Letters of Thanks

"I have to tell you I was not ready to accept what you had to say, at all. I couldn't believe nor did I like what I was hearing. At first you really made me mad, but as things progressed what you were telling me became ever so true. My husband's alcoholism was tearing our family apart. Thanks for your honesty and your willingness to put up with my unbelievable attitude. Its people like you who make the world go round, only in a saner manner! Thanks again! " - DH

"I had no idea why my son, who have watched go from the most gracious caring kid, to a lying thieving con artist who I didn't want to wipe my feet on. Heroin addiction has to be the worst thing a family can go through, not only did you guide me through what is probably the worst experience I have ever had, you followed up to make sure we were doing okay. You and the counselors at AddictionWatch are truly an asset to society." - HS

"When my daughter finally appeared on our doorstep, thanks to your advice we knew exactly what to do. I felt as though I have known you for years, and we are forever grateful to the knowledge we have gained through your service. My daughter's prescription addiction, lead to a heroin addiction and she was doing unimaginable things to support her habit; it was a life of hell. She has been in the program you referred us to and we are already seeing drastic changes for the better. Thanks so much!" - BC
